PROGRAM MOTTO
"Row The Boat"
This motto symbolizes our program's three non-negotiables of Attitude, Effort, and Coachability. Each of these things is a choice and is not dependent on talent.
Attitude: Being in the boat means you have a positive attitude. The water outside the boat represents negativity that can surround any team or program, whether its criticism, doubt, distrust, or selfishness. As long as we keep these negatives out of our program's boat, we will stay afloat!
Effort: The oars of the boat represent the effort of all members of our program, including athletes, coaches, and parents and families. All members must have our oars in the water and be rowing as hard as we can in the same direction. If we are not rowing together with a common purpose in the same direction, the boat will not move efficiently and may not even be able to move toward our goal.
Coachability: When sitting in a row boat, the rowers are facing the opposite direction from where the boat is going and are unable to see all of the obstacles and challenges. We must trust each other and those who set the course for the boat and row according to the plan. Failure to row together under leadership will prevent us from rowing together.
